IHSG Conference
The objective of the IHSG Conference is the exchange and presentation of research work carried out on forage crops and turf for seed production. Problems encountered in seed production are common to the various seed production countries.
The topics of past conferences have covered various aspects of applied seed production including:
Plant protection (insects, weeds, diseases)
Agronomy (fertilisation, crop establishment techniques, harvesting, etc.)
Variety creation
Quality of harvested seeds
Associated technologies.
The International Herbage Seed Group (IHSG) started with the International Herbage Seed Production Research Group (IHSPRG) in 1978.
For over four decades, the IHSG has encouraged βcooperation and communication between workers actively engaged in herbage seed production research, β by encouraging cooperation and communication between international scientists involved in seed production in:
Herbage/pasture seed - e.g. ryegrass, fescue, bromegrass
Turf seed
Forage legume seed - mainly clover and lucerne/alfalfa.
